William “Dicky” Wells (1907-1985) was an america trombonist and singer. He started as a member of Lloyd Scott band and he played with Count Basie between 1938 and 1945.
At the end of 1930’s he worked as a leader with Django Reinhardt as one of his sidemen.

William P. Gottlieb (1917-2006) was an american photographer.
He became famous for his photographs of the “Golden Age” of American jazz.
He did over sixteen hundred photographs of celebrated jazz artists from the jazz scene between 1938 and 1948.
