Red Norvo born Kenneth Norville (1908 –1999) was a jazz xylophonist and vibraphonist. He was married to Mildred Bailey and they were called “Mr. and Mrs Swing”.
He started his career with the band “The Collegians” then he played with the bands of Whiteman in the early 30’s, Goodman and many others.
In the 50’s, Norvo put together an unusual trio with guitarist Tal Farlow (later Jimmy Raney) and bassist Charles Mingus (later Red Mitchell).
