In 1925 he became chief of photography of French Vogue; in 1931 he moved to London with Horst P. Horst who became his lover and model.
He worked also in New York for Harper’s Bazaar and in Hollywood for the film industry.

She worked at Harper’s Bazaar from 1936 to 1958 in associaton with Diana Vreeland. She left Harper’s Bazaar in 1958 when a new art director tried to exert influence on her work and until 1960, year of her retirement, she worked at Vogue and other magazines.
Dorothy Virginia Margaret Juba (1927-1990), known as Dovima, was an american model during the 1950s.
She worked closely with Richard Avedon, whose photograph “Dovima with the Elephants”, taken at the Cirque d’hiver, Paris, in 1955, has become famous.

He worked especially for Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Life.
