Anna Sten (1908 – 1993) was a Russian silent film actress and Hollywood movie star.
She studied at the Russian Film Academy and joined the Moscow Art Theater.
She appeared in several Russian silent films and with the German movie “The Brothers Karamazov “(1931) Anna came to the attention of Samuel Goldwyn who was looking for a foreign-born actress that he could build up as the rival of (and possible successor to) Greta Garbo.
Anne Baxter (1923 – 1985) was an American actress.
When she was 13 she started to work at Broadway and her first movie role was in “20 Mule Team” by Richard Thorpe in 1940.
In 1946, after her role in “The razor’s edge”, she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her career continued with a role in “All About Eve” (1950) and she received a nomination for Best Actress, but did not win the Award this time.
She is most known for being Nefertari in one of the greatest movies of alltime, “The Ten Commandments” (1956).
